Olympiad Movement: Developing Olympiad-Focused Education Across the Regions of Armenia

The “PhysMath Friends” Charitable Foundation, with the generous financial support of the H. Hovnanian Family Foundation, announces the launch of a new strategic initiative — the “Olympiad Movement” program.

For the first time, the Foundation is expanding its activities beyond the PhysMath School by establishing Olympiad-focused educational groups across the regions of the Republic of Armenia. Within the framework of the program, specialized Olympiad groups will be established in selected regions, offering students the opportunity to pursue advanced studies in mathematics and physics. The initiative aims to prepare participants for successful participation in both national and international Olympiads.

The program is currently in its pilot phase. Based on initial results, the Foundation plans to further strengthen its cooperation with state institutions. In particular, a preliminary agreement has been reached with the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports to jointly develop mechanisms for identifying students with exceptional abilities. This will enable the delivery of targeted, high-level instruction and support the full realization of students’ academic potential.

The primary objective of the program is to ensure equal access to Olympiad-level education for children across Armenia, thereby contributing to the country’s long-term technological advancement and sustainable development.
