The 2025\u20132026 academic year was a period of progress and outstanding achievements for the Olympiad Clubs of the PhysMath School. The clubs operating in physics, mathematics, informatics, and astronomy continue to play an important role in Armenia\u2019s Olympiad education system, preparing a new generation of students who represent the country on international platforms. In 2026, <\/span>50% <\/b>of the members of Armenia\u2019s national teams participating in the International Olympiads in Mathematics, Physics, Informatics, and Astronomy were PhysMath School students.<\/span><\/p>\n

During the academic year, <\/span>14 Olympiad Clubs<\/b> operated at PhysMath School, designed for students in grades 7\u201312. A total of <\/span>29 weekly sessions<\/b> were conducted, during which students deepened their knowledge, developed analytical thinking skills, and prepared for both national and international Olympiads.<\/span><\/p>\n

At the beginning of the academic year, <\/span>405 students<\/b> were enrolled in the clubs. By January, the number was <\/span>352<\/b>, and by the end of the academic year, it reached <\/span>296<\/b>. The decrease in participation is a natural process, often related to student progression and commitment levels, as participation in the clubs is voluntary and does not require admission testing. At the same time, Olympiad education requires consistent, intensive, and daily effort from students.<\/span><\/p>\n

Although historically boys have represented the majority of participants in subject Olympiads and Olympiad Clubs, the achievements of female students demonstrate their strong potential and contribution. In the 2025 International Subject Olympiads, <\/span>20% of Armenia\u2019s medals were won by female participants<\/b>, highlighting their important role in STEM fields and emphasizing the need to further expand girls\u2019 participation in science and technology.<\/span><\/p>\n

Olympiad Education Open to Students from Other Schools<\/b><\/h2>\n

The PhysMath School Olympiad Clubs have continued to welcome students from other general education institutions as well. While the primary beneficiaries of the program are PhysMath School students, students from other schools also participated in the clubs throughout the year.<\/span><\/p>\n

In October 2025, the number of students joining from other schools was <\/span>21<\/b>, in January 2026 \u2014 <\/span>15<\/b>, and in June \u2014 <\/span>14<\/b>.<\/span><\/p>\n

International Medals as a Result of Dedicated Work<\/b><\/h2>\n

At the 2026 Zhautykov International Olympiad, Armenia\u2019s team won 21 medals, including 11 medals achieved by PhysMath School students.<\/span><\/p>\n

The medal results of PhysMath students were:<\/span><\/p>\n

  • Mathematics:<\/b> 2 gold, 1 silver, and 2 bronze medals<\/span><\/li>\n
  • Physics:<\/b> 2 bronze medals<\/span><\/li>\n
  • Informatics:<\/b> 4 bronze medals<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    This year, PhysMath students also achieved outstanding results at other international competitions:<\/span><\/p>\n

    • International Physics Olympiad:<\/b> 2 medals \u2014 1 silver and 1 bronze<\/span><\/li>\n
    • International Chemistry Olympiad:<\/b> 1 bronze medal<\/span><\/li>\n
    • International Biology Olympiad:<\/b> 1 bronze medal<\/span><\/li>\n
    • International Mathematical Olympiad:<\/b> 6 medals \u2014 2 silver and 4 bronze<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

      The results of the 2025\u20132026 academic year demonstrate that the Olympiad Clubs of PhysMath School continue to be one of the key pillars of Armenia\u2019s scientific and educational advancement.<\/span><\/p>\n

      PhysMath School continues to build an environment where talented students receive knowledge, support, and opportunities to showcase their potential not only in Armenia but also on international scientific and educational platforms.<\/span><\/p>\n

      The activities of the Olympiad Clubs at PhysMath School are supported by the PhysMath Friends Charitable Foundation. The program\u2019s main supporters are David Baghdasaryan (Co-founder of Krisp), Astghik Piliposyan (Head of Product & Growth at Krisp), and ONEX. The program is also supported by JetBrains, Fimetech, and Khachatur Sukiasyan. In the upcoming academic year, the program will receive support from the Amaryan Foundation.<\/span><\/p>\n
